In-House Drug & Alcohol Training

All DAS officers have extensive knowledge of managing challenging issues in the workplace both drug and alcohol related and are on hand to answer any questions relating to this very sensitive issue. All are fully qualified and able to train staff members how to collect samples and process them, ensuring they comply with the Chain of Custody and meet the legal standards.

Anyone offering training without the relevant qualification is simply taking samples and filling in forms, a risk some companies might take to save money. However, this cost cutting exercise may not stand up in a court of law. If the employee who failed the test decides to pursue a claim for unfair dismissal, after providing a non-negative sample they would have to be reinstated. As the test procedure was flawed and carried out by a non-qualified person. A waste of time and money, wouldn’t you agree?

We have gained a great deal of experience working many large organisations throughout the UK who have taken responsibility for drug and alcohol screening in the workplace to ensure the health and safety of all including the public, in accordance with the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 and the Road Traffic Act 1991.

As part of our ongoing commitment to our clients we offer quality, cost effective services to meet the needs and challenges that are now evident in the workplace on all levels. Responding to these needs we now offer a complete in-house drug testing training programme.

This includes training a select group of employees, including Health and Safety Officers, First Aiders, Human Resources, Managers and Supervisors to the required standard, providing approved point of care testing kits which can be tailored to suit our clients needs. Testing urine for a wide range of drugs including;

  • Methamphetamine

  • Cocaine

  • Tetrahydrocannabinol

  • Amphetamine

  • Opiates

  • Ecstasy

  • Methadone

  • Tramadol

  • Benzodiazepines

  • Ketamine

  • Oxycodone

  • Tri-cyclic antidepressants

  • Mephedrone

  • Methylenedioxypyrovalerone

  • K2

  • Buprenorphine

  • Morphine

Results will indicate drug use usually within 5 – 10 minutes. Finally, DAS will help you set up an account with a UKAS accredited laboratory who will verify any samples and provide the necessary independent certificates for dealing with an employee’s test results.

The benefits of implementing in-house training are significant.  Immediate testing and instant results without waiting for the collection officer to arrive on site, which could be anything up to 2 hours. Cutting costs and savings which could be anything from hundreds of pounds to thousands. Ultimately the more effective the testing programme is, the healthier the working environment will be. Sending out a clear message to all employees that substance abuse will not be tolerated whilst on shift. This not only acts as a deterrent, but it also enhances health, safety and well-being in the workplace.

Whilst this only one service that DAS offer, we believe that we are best positioned to offer you a competitive price and excellent service. Providing a bespoke service to meet your requirements, including impartiality that far outweighs any of the competition and addresses the needs of the professional board requirements. Offering an holistic approach to the employee and a rigorous product to the employer
