When is the best time to book my test?
Before you book a flight it is best to check out the travel restrictions and find out what the requirements are. Tests should be booked in the first 24 hours of the travel window to ensure results are back in time to avoid missing your flight.
Do my children need to be tested for COVID 19?
Each country you are entering will have it's own travel policy. Please check with the airline before you travel or check out the government website for more details. Often children under 12 are exempt.
How can I check the travel requirements for the country I wish to fly to?
The UK government website is a good resource for the latest travel restrictions and requirements and can be found at www.gov.uk/foreign-travel-advice
How long does the test take and when will I get the results?
The test is very quick and takes only a few seconds. When you arrive at clinic you will be asked to sign a consent form. Please take with you your photographic ID and booking details. The collection officer will then take your sample. It will be tagged with your personal barcode and sent off to the lab. The results will be sent to you within 48 hours of the lab receiving the sample via email with an attached PDF. This document is your 'Fit to Fly Certificate'. You need to download and print off at least copies. One is required in exchange for a boarding pass when you check in at the airport you are departing from. Another is for customs at the country of entry and the third is a spare, should you require it for anything else. Only hard copies of this document are accepted. Screen shots or confirmation emails are not permitted as evidence of 'Fit to Fly'.
Can I use an NHS result to fly?
The NHS test is only for people who are displaying symptoms or have been in close contact with someone who has recently been tested and has a positive lab confirmation result. If you have symptoms you should not be flying and should isolate.
